William D. Kilpatrick

William D. Kilpatrick, age 75, of 8854 Tannery Road, in Girard, died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at his residence. He was born April 15, 1932 in Bradford, Pa., a son of the late Lyle and Ruth Sherrick Kilpatrick. Bill was a graduate of Bradford High School and went on to serve in the Korean Conflict as an Army Private. For 30 years he was employed at Copes Vulcan in Lake City and retired there as a Quality Control Inspector. He was a 35 year member of the Machinists' Union I.A.M. Bill was also an avid C.B.'er using the handle of "Crew Cut" and for many years he was an active member of REACT.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by a brother, Edward Kilpatrick. He is survived by his wife Myrtle Haynes Kilpatrick; a son, David Kilpatrick and his wife Deborah of Durham, N.C.; two daughters: Diane Taylor, her husband Charles and their children, Zachery and Joshua of Lake City, and Cheryl Battista, her husband James and their son, Christopher VanRiper of Warren, Pa.; four sisters: Irene Kilpatrick, Marjorie Gilbert, and Fannie Parrett all of Bradford, Pa., and Lois Byrd of Centerville, Ohio; a brother, Lyle Kilpatrick of Eldred, Pa. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in Burton's All Faiths' Chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 with Rev. Clyde Davis, pastor of the Girard Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Girard Cemetery.
