WILLIAMS, OPAL , MAYBELLE GRESSETT Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008. Opal was born July 5, 1916. Opal loved her family, loved when they would "come" home, and loved to just sit and visit. Her husband of 73 years, George Wesley Williams passed away in November, 2007. Opal spent a lifetime following George, making a home wherever work took him. In her death, she follows him home. She is survived by daughters Joyce (Don, deceased) Willis of Mesquite, Janette (Lewis) Smallwood of Argyle, Jeanne (Steve) Womack of Harlingen, son George (Bernadette) Williams, Jr. of Canyon Lake, 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cousins. The family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care provided for Opal by the Treemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Dallas. Special thanks go to the second floor Nursing staff and the Samaritan Hospice Staff for the patience, kindness, and understanding they gave Mrs. Williams for the last years of her life. Visitation with the family is scheduled for Wednesday, January 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 24 at the Byrum Funeral Home Chapel. The graveside service will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Faulkenberry Cemetary in Groesbeck, Texas. Pastor Joel Harris will be conducting the services.
