ODESSA Loren Blanton Bentley, 90, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at his residence. He was born June 19, 1918, in Coffeeville, Kan., to Blanton and Charlotte (Stout) Bentley. He married Georgia Dickens on April 18, 1991, in Las Vegas, Nev. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Master Sgt. during WWII. He was a member of the Masons, American Legion, VFW, Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was active in Meals on Wheels. He worked as a salesman for State Chemical Co. for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Loren B. Bentley, Jr.; and great-grandson, Ian Bentley.

He was a loving father, a devoted husband and steadfast friend.

There will be a family visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dean Kelm officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harmony Home, 910-C S. Grant, Odessa, Texas, 79761.

Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
