Mr. Whitehead, who resided at 5720 Oakridge Street, was the oldest employe in years of service of the city's transportation system, having served continuously for 52 years.

During the more than half a century Mr. Whitehead served the transportation lines he had never missed a day from work because of illness and his sudden death came as a shock to hundreds of friends he had made here. He was a familiar figure on streets of the city, especially at Main and Adams, at which corner he worked for many years. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
