Deceased Name: Elzear L. Chabot
PAWLEYS ISLAND| Elzear L. Chabot, 88, of Traditions, formerly of Westport, Mass., died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 7, 1914, in Fall River, Mass. He was a World War II Army veteran. He fought at Normandy and received three battle stars. He was a former commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Legion both in Westport. He was a member of St. George Catholic Church and a charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Westport. He was a barber for more than 50 years. He was an avid baseball fan especially of the Boston Red Sox.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Belisle Chabot; a daughter, Eileen Delsolia, and her husband, Bob, of Pawleys Island; two sisters, Rita Barker of Westport and Lorraine Dafault of Somerset, Mass.; three grandchildren, Brian Delsolias and his wife, April, of Methuen, Mass., Gena Mitchell and her husband, Christopher, of Methuen, Mass., and Karen Mendieta and her husband, Norman, of Lawrence, Mass; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Camp Baskervill.
A service will be Saturday in Westport. directed by Potter Funeral Home.
Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel, is in charge of local arrangements.
