Walter F. Pajerski

Walter Frank Pajerski, 97, of Springdale died Saturday (May 3, 2003) at The Willows of Presbyterian SeniorCare in Oakmont.

He was born Dec. 3, 1905, in Glen Campbell, but lived in Springdale for most of his life.

A graduate of the former Carnegie Institute of Technology, now Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, he received a degree in electrical engineering.

He was a tool and die designer at the former Schnorr & Co. in Springdale. During World War II, he worked on the Manhatten Project. He later worked at Mine Safety Appliances in Pittsburgh.

Mr. Pajerski was a member of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church in Springdale, where he was a former usher and member of the Holy Name Society, and the Polish National Alliance.

Survivors include three sons, Victor Pajerski of Upper Burrell, David (June) Pajerski of California, Pa., and John (Lynn) Pajerski of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia (Paul) LaRosa of Upper St. Clair; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Anthony (Jerry) Page of Duluth, Ga.; and two sisters, Katherine Bombalski and Mrs. Joanne (Paul) Samay, both of Natrona Heights, Harrison.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Lustic Pajerski; his parents, Lewis and Agnes Kubicz Pajerski; six brothers, Joseph, Michael, Adolph, Stanley, Edward and Lewis Pajerski; and a sister, Albina Gille.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in SPRINGDALE at the CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Alphonsus Church, with the Rev. George Saladna officiating. Burial will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Township.
