Mr. Thomas Grant "Tommy" Bumgarner, age 64, of North Cherry Street, Wilkesboro died Friday, January 20, 2006 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23, at 11:00 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Hwy 16N with the Rev. Phil Chapman officiating and Mr. William Parsons speaking.
Mr. Bumgarner was born in Wilkes County, February 27, 1941, to James Thomas "Tom" and Grace Wilson Burmgarner. He was a member of Wilkesboro Baptist Church. Mr. Bumgarner graduated from Wilkes Central High School and from Gaston Technical Institute. He served in the US Army. Mr. Bumgarner was a Wilkesboro Town Commissioner for 10 years and 2 months and an honorary Wilkesboro Fireman. He was the owner and president of Falcon Insulation Technology, Inc.
Mr. Bumgarner is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jean Parsons Bumgarner of the home; one daughter, Ella Bess Bumgarner attending Baylor University of Waco, TX; one son, Jacob Thomas Bumgarner of Wilkesboro; his mother, Grace Wilson Bumgarner of Wilkesboro; one brother, Donnie Bumgarner and his wife, Patsy of Wilkesboro.
The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 5:30 until 7:30 Sunday, January 22, 2006
