MARION - Leppke, Elmer, age 91, died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Via Christi, St. Francis Campus at Wichita. He was born, March 17, 1918 on the family farm south of Marion. He was a lifetime resident of the area and a farmer and stockman. He was a 1936 graduate of Marion High School. On Oct. 19, 1941 he was married to Lillian Harms at the Grace Hill Church west of Whitewater and they made their home on the farm south of Marion. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his wife Lillian of the home; two sons Merle H. of Marion and Bob W. of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Marilyn Heier of Park City, Kansas; two sisters Gladys Janzen of Hillsboro and Ann Voth of Hutchinson; a stepsister Hannah of Wichita; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Eastmoor United Methodist Church with Pastor Larry King officiating. Interment will be at the Marion Cemetery. There will be a visitation with family present Thursday evening from 7-8:30 P.M. at the Zeiner Funeral Home of Marion. A memorial has been established with the Good News Christian Fellowship Church of Marion.
