!Obituary from The Liberal News, Liberal Kansas, 1 March 1923.

"Sarah Ida Padget (sic) was born in Clay County, Illinois, October 28, 1872.

"She died at a Liberal hospital February 15th, 1923, age 51 years, 13 (sic) months, and 17 days, flu and pneumonia being the cause of her death.

"She moved with her parents to York, Nebraska, and from there to Chariton County, Missouri, where she met and married Lazarus W. Bishop, December 24, 1889.

"Six children were born to this union: Miss Della Ogan of Liberal, Kansas; Mrs. Mae Evans of Houston, Texas, Newton and Sidney Bishop of Goodwell, Oklahoma, two dying in infancy.

"She was a kind and dutiful wife, a considerate and loving mother, a splendid neighbor and was loved by everyone who came in contact with her sunny disposition, she giving her life for the comforts and pleasures of others, unshelfishly forgetting herself.

"She lived a consistent christian life, being converted and baptized sixteen years ago, joining the Baptist church.

"She leaves to mourn her untimely loss, a husband, four children, one grandson, an aged mother, Mrs. J. W. Padgett of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, five brothers, Jim Padgett of Bartlesville; J. W. Padgett of Ponca City, ; C. H. Padgett of Sumner, Missouri and one sister, Mrs. J. W. McKinney of Ralston, Oklahoma, beside a host of other relatives and friends.

"Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church by Rev. Williamson of Tyrone, Oklahoma and the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Liberal Cemetery."
