Mrs. Emma Banks, 64, wife of Bernard Banks, city health officer, died yesterday morning at her home, 503 North Main Street, after three weeks' illness.
Mrs. Banks was born in Mahanoy City and had spent the greater part of her life in this city where she was well known and respected. She was a devout member of St. Luke's Reformed Church and for years was active in affairs of its various societies.
Besides her husband these children survive: Frederick Banks, a member of the city fire department; William, Joseph, Mrs. George Price, Mrs. John Owens, Mrs. Howard Lahr, Mrs. Harry Hooley and Mrs. William Stephens, all of Wilkes-Barre; a brother, Frank Zechman, Phillipsburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Morgan, city and Mrs. Bertha Duell, Lebanon. She also leaves ten grandchildren.
