Dot Hines, 82, J.C. Penney Employee

FOREST GROVE - Dot Hines, 82, Forest Grove, died Nov. 15, 2005, at her home.

a celebration of her life will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Cornelius United Methodist Church, 1095 S. Beech, Cornelius.

Mrs. Hines was born Nov. 25, 1922, in Silvis, Ill., the second child of Phil and Grace Deporter. She was raised in Moline, Ill., and graduated from high school there in 1939.

She was married to Ervin McLain for 28 years before he died of cancer. She later married Jack Hines and he died after 30 years of marriage.

Mrs. Hines worked at J.C. Penney in Hillsboro and Forest Grove before retiring after more than 25 years of service.

She enjoyed sewing, making pillows and afghans, dancing camping, walking, trips to the beach and family gatherings. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Cliff and Susan McLain, Forest Grove, and Roger and Jan McLain, Tigard; seven grandchildren and thier spouses; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jim Deporter, Lincoln City, and Ray Deporter, Moline, Ill.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kerr.
