Ulis S Grant McCleary, 25, son of John William and Lillie Acklin McCleary was born August 6, 1927, at Bois D'Arc, Mo., and was killed in a truck wreck on his birthday. He served in World War II in the Navy.
He is survived by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p m Saturday at Dripping Springs with Rev Joe Anderson officiating. Funeral hymns were by Freddie Land accompanied by Mrs. Nancy Horsman.
Pallbearers were Claude Fowler, Wallace Shaw, Roy Harris, LeRoy Johnston, Clifton Humbert, and Kerm Collins.
At noon Saturday, word was received from his father and former wife that they wanted to see the boy before he was buried, so the body was returned to the Thornburgh Funeral Home and held until they arrived from Chicago. Burial was then made at 10 o'clock Sunday morning in Dripping Springs Cemetery.
