Survivors include her parents, William H. & Linda P. Howard; brother and sister-in-law, Phillip R. & Delyza Howard.
Tara was heading home from the movies in Columbia. She was a freshman studying graphic design at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia and was home for holiday break.
Tara had received numerous awards, including college scholarships, for her volunteer work with the homeless, the elderly and abused women.
"There was not a disadvantaged group whom Tara's heart didn't go out to," said her father, William Howard. "There weren't enough hours in the day for Tara to help. She felt she was blessed and wanted to pass that on."
Note: Tara is buried adjacent to my beloved mother. This memorial which was first created by Buddy and then graciously transferred to me is meant to honor Tara's life. If any of Tara's family members would like me to transfer it or delete it (I understand some folks don't want their loved ones on the internet), I will happily do so.
I THANK each and every one of you who stops by to remember Tara.
