|Birth: ||May 3, 1803|
|Death: ||Feb. 18, 1886|
Born near Stolph, (Slupsk) Pommeran, he married Wilhelmina F. Charlotte Manske in 1829. The family name was spelled Vögt in Pommerania.
They had at least two sons, Theodore and Albert, who immigrated with them to America, purchased land and farmed in Limestone and Aroma Park Townships of Kankakee Co. IL for generations.
Because he signed his name officially Johann Ernst, I, it is likely there was a son Johann Ernst who did not immigrate. They also had a daughter, Albertine Voigt Eller who came to America and wrote "Memories of the Past" published in 1933, a story of the Viogt family.
