Mr. Schulten is survived by his widow and the following named children: Mrs. Theresa Beach of Los Angeles; Mrs. May Vaughn of LaGrande, OR; W. J. Schulten of Jefferson City, MO; Lieut. Schulten and the Misses Gertrude and Agatha Schulten of Seattle.

All with the exception of Lieut. Schulten were with their father during his final illness.

Mr. Schulten was born 68 years ago in Duisburg, Germany. He came to this country via the port of New York in 1883, and to Helena three years later.

For the past 11 years, he has been the clerk to the board of county commissioners.

Prior to that time he was employed for several years as chief clerk and in the assay office of the smelter in East Helena.

He was married to Miss Mary Josephine O'Grady in 1888. Mr. Schulten and his family are widely known here, and his death will spread sorrow throughout the community.
