Alfred C. Glaze was born in Toronto, Ontario, to Henry and Lydia Glaze. Brother of Dorothy, Norman, Dennis, Stan and Howard. Glaze attended Rawlinson Public School and East York Memorial. Alfred was a member of the Toronto Telegram editorial staff at the time of his enlistment in August 1941. He transferred to the Tank Corps and was with that unit until March 1944. Glaze transferred to the Irish Regiment of Canada. He was with that unit in Holland at the time of his death.
