Charles A. Jarman, 66, passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at his home in Shelbyville.

Charles was born March 11, 1944 in Rushville to William Jarman and Alic (Hankins) Jarman, both deceased. Charles married Peggy Stamm Aug. 19, 1968 and she survives.

He was a factory worker at Gecom in Greensburg for many years. He was a past member of Plum Creek Christian Church and Rushville Eagles Lodge. Charles graduated from New Salem High School in 1963. He was an E7 in the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War.

Charles leaves his wife, Peggy of Shelbyville; sons, Charles A. Jr. of Rushville and William D. "Bill" (and wife, Lynne) Jarman of Lake Santee; daughter, Alison Jarman of Paragon; brothers, Donnie (and wife, Regina) Jarman of Milroy and Ronnie (and wife, Doreen) Jarman of New Salem; sister, Joretta Adams of New Salem; and grandsons, William Joseph, Christopher Lee and Michael Allen Jarman.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Joe, and one infant brother, Kenneth.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Chaplain Joel Brown officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.

Burial will be in Ben Davis Creek Cemetery.
