Amber Marie Hartwig was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Amber will be remembered as an outstanding individual.
Amber was born on September 8, 1972 at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Dennis and Linda Hartwig. Amber grew up in Nora Springs and Mason City Iowa.
Amber was raised with one sibling. She had one older sister, Angie. Amber was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her sibling. She and her sibling experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young girl, Amber had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. Amber was an active child who took part in basketball. She was a member of 4H, Brownies and Girl Scouts. In her spare time she liked to draw and make crafts. Amber's memorable achievements included a Blue Ribbon on a Latch Hook pillow and Red Ribbon for the cookies she made. However, to Amber, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends.
A typical teenager, Amber had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1991. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. Her favorite class in high school was art.
Always considered a good friend to those she knew, Amber enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, some of her best friends were Tara Christensen and Tonya Coburn. Later in life, she became friends with Kara, Trina, Susan, Janetha, Casey, Kathy and Sarah.
Amber worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Amber was blessed with two children, one son, Micheal and one daughter, Alica.
Fortunately, Amber enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Amber worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was Vision Center Manager at Walmart. Amber always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Amber enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were crafts of all kinds, flower and vegetable gardening. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share
her interests with others.
Amber was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. Two of her favorites was Charlie a dog and Chipper a Yellow Tabby cat. They were best friends for 10 years. Her family was rounded out by her German Shepherds, Danny and Duke.
Amber passed away on July 14, 2009 at home. She is survived by her children Alica and Micheal; parents Linda and Dennis Hartwig; sister Angie Bublitz; grandparents DeVere and Gloria Hartwig; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Simply stated, Amber was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Amber leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Amber Marie Hartwig.
