Estel A. Hunt passed away Monday, July 7, 2008 in Shawnee at the age of 95.

Estel was born in Pink, Okla., June 8, 1913 to Albert Hunt and Lizzie (Stapp) Hunt.

He married Ruby Drain on May 24, 1941 in Tecumseh.

Mr. Hunt worked for 13 years for Shawnee Garment Factory as a machinist. Prior to that he had worked as a mechanic. He attended the Bible Temple Church in Shawnee.

Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hack Hunt, and two sisters, Oda Kepler and Lillian Burlison.

Survivors are his wife, Ruby Hunt of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Oleta Elliott and husband Tom of Shawnee and Kathy Garrett and husband Ron of Shawnee; six grandchildren, Diana Heffley, Dan McLaughlin, Mike McLaughlin, Tara Elliott, Kathy Baker and Tommy Elliott; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bible Temple Church in Shawnee with the Rev. Wayne Sloan officiating and the Rev. Dan Megehee assisting. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.
