Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in the Union Army in Company H, 110th Ohio Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on April 2, 1865 at Petersburg, Virginia. His citation reads "Capture of flag." Brick Memorial Park Cemetery was also known as Old Dunkard Church Cemetery.
