Actress. She is best remembered by many for the role of 'Sister Marie Horton' in the popular daytime television soap opera "Days of Our Lives" (1979 to 1985). In addition, she was known for her performances as 'Barbara' in the Broadway musical "Milk and Honey." Born into a family of entertainers, her father was an actor of Ukrainian origin, her paternal grandfather was a playwright, producer and director. She followed her family's path into entertainment and made her Broadway debut at the age of seventeen portraying 'Anna Roosevelt' in the play "Sunrise at Campobello" (1958 to 1959). This was followed with the Tony Award nominated "Milk and Honey" (1961 to 1963) and "Never Live Over a Pretzel Factory" (1964). While performing in the later, she met her future husband actor Lawrence Pressman. Other TV credits include "The Doctors," "Barnaby Jones" and "The Six Million Dollar Man." She died of complications from multiple sclerosis.
