A retired barber, he operated Sutton's Barber Shop at 111 Kilgore Ave. for 30 years, discontinuing business in 1974. His barbershop became the meeting place for many Central Indiana sportsmen.
In June 1980, he and his wife, Mabel, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel; one son, Edgar (Bud), Muncie; three daughters, Mrs. John (Rosabell) Cole, Muncie, Mrs. Lewis (Bernedan) McCord, Parker City, and Mrs. Marshall (Jean) Babbitt, New Castle; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuedsay in Parson Mortuary by Rev. Al Fernandez, associate pastor of Grace Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.
