Charles Ervin Riker enlisted as a private in Company A of the Reorganized Fourth Michigan Infantry on August 28, 1864, for 3 years service, at age 17. He was mustered into Federal service on August 29, 1864, and served until being discharged on June 14, 1866, at Detroit, Michigan.
