Zerubbabel Jerome, (1714-1783), served in Capt. Noadiah Hooker's company 1776.
He was born in Wallingford; died in Farmington, Conn.
Zerubbabel was one of the "first forty" who settled in the Wyoming Valley of PA and was at Forty Fort. Son Asahel settled in the Kingston area. Zerubbabel ws a private on guard duty at Boston in Capt. Noadiah Hooker's company, Colonel Wolcott's regiment, during the Revolutionary War. He had sons that patriots as well as sons who were Tories. His will mentions advances to children Mary Spencer, Thomas, Phebe Dunbar, Asahel, Jerusha Pond, Zerubbabel Jr, Robert, Chauncey, Isabel Warren and Ruth Graves. In May 1762 the General Assembly of CT appointed Zerubbabel Jerome to be an Ensign in the trainband in New Cambridge in Farmington, in the 1st regiment in the colony.
