Dale Richard McHenry born to Everett "Mac" and Mary E. (Melton) McHenry in Marion. Dale grew up around a big table of Mom's good cooking with five brothers and one sister. While Dale had lived in the past year in
Marion, he spent much of his adult life in Paris, Il.

Dale was a 1972 graduate of Oak Hill High School. He was a natural athlete and spent every summer of his youth on a baseball diamond. He also loved basketball and his high school hero was Pistol Pete Maravich. Dale took up golfing in high school while working a summer job at Green's Golfland, and it became his life-long passion.
The McHenry boys will hold many great memories of golfing together with brotther, Dale. Dale was also a devoted fan of IU basketball, and he was proud to be a huge "Barry Manilow Fan"

Left to miss Dale's dimpled smile are his mother, Nary; four brothers, Phillip (Lois) McHenry, Walter (Dawn) McHenry, Robert "Bob" (Cheryl) McHenry; Thomas "Pete" (Marianne) McHenry; sister Carol (Mark) Jones. Two daughters Stephanie McHenry and Deanna McHenry and a son Jason McHenry; three grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, edtended family and friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his infant brother George (1946); his father Everett (1990); and his brother , John (1992.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sat Jan 9, 2010 in Nelson Street Wesleyan Church, Marion with his brother Pastor Bob officiating. Owen Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
