Robert Lee Cline passed away June 12, 2009, at his home in Boise, Id.
He was born Dec. 14, 1931, in Aitkin, to Claude and Marie (Thomas) Cline. He graduated from Aitkin High School in 1949, lettering in all four sports. Upon graduation he entered the Navy and was stationed in San Diego. In November 1950, he married JoAnn Paulus of Aitkin and they made their first home in Corpus Christi, Texas, with the Navy. Upon honorable discharge from the Navy they returned to Minnesota to enter Bemidji State College, graduating in 1953. His first teaching job was in Austin, Minn., for nine years and two years as principal. While there he also received his masters degree in administration from Montana State University. From Austin they moved to Osseo, where he was principal for 21 years. He retired in 1988 and they moved to their lake home on Farm Island Lake. In 2002 they moved to Boise, Idaho.
Bob fought a five-year battle with Multiple Myeloma. As he did with everything in his life he maintained a positive attitude and always a smile.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, Boise; daughter, Debra (Gary Edwards), Boise; sons, Bob (Heidi), Savage; Marc (Barbara), Carmel, Calif.; and Bill, Kenosha, Wis.; grandchildren, Sam, Joe, Amanda, Nicole, Dakota and Joshua; and two great-grandsons, Kamron and Daylin; sister, Marjorie "Marge" Harr, and brother, Bill, both of Aitkin, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Doug, Tom, and Jack; and grandson, Tyler.
Private military internment was in the Idaho Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho. Memorials may be sent in his name to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation, Box 414238, Boston, Ma. 02241-4238 or MST, 190 E. Bannock St., Boise, Id. 83712.
