Arthur "Chip" Lee Giese was born on August 16, 1946, to Arthur "Buck" Joy and Ella Ida Martha (Krahn) Giese.

Chip received his education in the Storden- Jeffers Public Schools and graduated in the Class of 1964. Chip then enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam from 1965-1969. Chip's grateful family includes his daughter Jody Wolner and her husband, Mike of St. James; Chad Rudolph of Crosby; four grandchildren, Kaylyn, Olivia, Carter, and Peyton; his parents, Arthur "Buck" and Ella Giese of Windom; two brothers, Dallas "Butch" Giese and his wife, Joan of Jeffers, Kent Giese and his wife, Mary, of Duluth; and many other relatives and friends.
