Roger D. (Buddy) Kimball, Sr. of Coppermine Road, Buchanan, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 in an Atlanta hospital. He was born in Blount County, AL, April 23, 1935, son of the late Billy Kimball and Vera Browning Kimball.

Mr. Kimball was a retired entrepreneur, owning several businesses in Haralson and Polk counties. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict and a member of Carroll EMC Board of Directors.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Larry Kimball, Quenton Kimball, Darrell Kimball and a sister, Melissa Kimball.

Survivors include wife, Yvonne Carroll Kimball of Buchanan; children, Angie (Jerry) Hood of Naples, Italy, Rodney D. (Marsha) Kimball of Buchanan, Roger D. (Leslie) Kimball, Jr. of Buchanan; sisters, Barbara (Marvin) McClure, Cedartown, Billie Jo (Bill) Rawson of Utah, Joan Dupont, Cedartown, Jean (Roland) Berry, Columbia, SC, Theresa Kimball of Buchanan; a brother, Max (Debi) Kimball of Cedartown; sisters-in-law, Margaret Kimball of Pensacola, FL, Sandra Gail Kimball of Niceville, FL; grandchildren, Callie Hood, Dane Kimball, Mary Catherine Kimball and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services were Wednesday, July 9 at 3:00 P.M. from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Melanie Dupont, Donnie McClure, Tommy McClure and Elder Charles Partridge officiating. Music was furnished by Ricky Shirley. Rodney Kimball, Roger Kimball, Jerry Hood, Payton Carroll, Michael Carroll, Bill Kimball, Ric Kimball and Lek Brannon served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Carroll EMC Board Members, Hoyt Bilbo, Mike Ellis, Ronald Ellis, Joe Goss, Wayne Jones, Dr. P. J. Kim, Horace McClure, Dr. Denis Morin, Clarence Price, Charles Sanders, Johnny Smith, Freddie Witcher and Max Witcher. Interment followed in Buchanan City Cemetery.
