He was born at Rimersburg, Clarion County, April 18, 1907, son of the late Myrl and Emma Mortimer Stewart.
A resident of Erie since 1948, Mr. Stewart worked for General Electric Co., Sealtest Milk Co. and Bonded Maintenance in Erie. Before moving to Erie he was a coal miner with Rochester Pittsburgh Coal Co. and Superior Cherry Run Coal Co. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Haggerty Stewart, and six sisters.
Survivors include three sons, John R. Stewart of Roy, Utah, William Myrl Stewart and Floyd R. Stewart, both of Erie; three daughters, Mrs. Philip M. (Doretha) Morosky of Erie, Alda Dolores Mohney of Hawthorn, Clarion County, and Shirley Joann Mohney of California, Pa.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a cousin; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Dusckas Funeral Home East, 2607 Buffalo Road, Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and attend a service there Friday at 11 a.m. The Rev. John Shank of First Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
