Mrs. J A Trenor Laid to Rest
Funeral services for Mrs. J A Trenor, who died at the home of her son, J L Trenor in Buena Vista on Friday, February 10, were held Sunday afternoon from the Arbor Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. W C Ballard of Wren, and the Rev. L A Comfort of Houston, officiated at the last rites.
Interment was in Arbor Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Trenor, who was before her marriage, Mary Etta Bennett, daughter of Elijah and Hannah Jane Cox Bennett, was born March 18, 1876 near Buena Vista, Miss. She was married to James Alexander Trenor on January 22, 1895. She was a charter member of the Arbor Grove Baptist church, having joined at an early age.
She is survived by two sons, J L Trenor of Buena Vista, and C O Trenor of Louisville; one daughter, Mrs. Howard Brown of Memphis; one brother, C C Bennett of McFarland, Ca., and three sisters, Mrs. B B Gilliam of Shreveport, La., Mrs. R F Bennett of Arcola, and Mrs. Leroy Johns of Cameron, Texas.
Surviving Mrs. Trenor also are six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were, J L Nelson, Gordon Goddard, Arthur King, F D Doss, K L Cousch, C C Westbrook, K C Garner and J H Parchman.
Those serving as honorary pallbearers were, Howard Gann, Sr., Sanford Patterson, Earl Freeman, B F King, Rev. H S Spraggins, Carl Garner, Howard King, Stanley Pulliam, A J Pulliam, Floyd Morgan, W A Bacon, H L Parchman, D E Couch and C L Colbert.
