John Henry Turney was in the 1889 Okla Land Run and staked out land at Marietta, OK. He mar. Luvada V. Barnett, Aug. 20, 1891, at Babbs, Love Co. OK. He and Luvada moved to Roff in Pontotoc Co. where he owned and ran a blacksmith shop, and daughter, Eula, was born. After 10 yrs. they moved to Non, in Hughes Co.,for 4 yrs. He then bought a farm east of Allen, OK, at a community called Round Praire where he farmed and lived for forty years. For health reasons, he sold his farm in 1942,and moved to Holdenville, OK and lived there until his death.
