WILLIAMSPORT - Oliver I. "Bud" Britner, 75, of Williamsport, died Monday, April 15, 2002, at his home.

Born Feb. 27, 1927, in Pitcairn, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry Oliver and Grace Morrow Irwin Britner.

He was a 1945 graduate of Williamsport High School; and a graduate of Hagerstown Junior College.

He was employed by Bell Atlantic in Hagerstown, retiring in 1986.

He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Williamsport.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rose Marie Harp Britner; one daughter, Cynthia A. Dawson of Williamsport; six sons, Kurt I. Britner of Hagerstown, Werner O. Britner, John D. Britner, Joel M. Britner, Timothy A. Britner and Clay T. Britner, all of Williamsport; three sisters, Bertha C. Miller of Williamsport, Grace M. Hanna of Frederick, Md., and Cathy L. Britner of Herndon, Va.; one brother, Robert M. Britner of Many, La.; and 14 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be private. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport, which will be open after 9 a.m.

The family request the omission of flowers; memorial donations may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St., Williamsport, MD 21795.
