From an obituary sent by David Gode. William A Dial was born in Bledsoe County, Tennessee, and moved to Forsyth County, Georgia or he was born in Forsyth County, Georgia. When he was 18 he joined many others who went to California for the gold rush. He spent two years in California & Nebada. He was fairly successful, but most of his treasure was stolen from him. He married Mary Parham in 1852 and they moved to Fannin County, Texas in 1853.
