ODESSA - William A. "Bill" Jones, 89, of Odessa, went to be with Lord on November 6, 2007. He was a Baptist. Bill was born to Richard and Nettie Jones August 10, 1918 in Young, County. He entered the U.S. Army October 3, 1942. He was a Staff Sergeant and Gunnery Instructor in the 464th AAF/BU with an honorable discharge February 16, 1946.

Bill was a 25-year Texas member of the Masonic Lodge.

He met and married the love of his life Mary Louise Collins Jones August 28, 1937, in Graham, Texas. They were married 51 years until her death November 8, 1988. Born to that union was their only son Jimmy Jones. After working in the Texas oilfields, he, Louise and Jimmy settled in Odessa.

A family service station was started with Bill, Louise and Jimmy working the business. In 1977 Bill went into rental properties also another family venture. He was co-owner of Jones Rental Properties ands continued to work the family business with Jimmy, Alice and Karen until the very day of his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his precious wife, Mary Louise Jones, sisters, Neva Whittley and Linnie Spann.

He leaves behind to cherish his love and great memories son, Jimmy and wife Alice of Odessa; grandchildren, Karen Jones and great friend Laura of Odessa, Kristen Sutton and husband John of Arlington, and Mark Harcrow of Dallas; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Virgil Jones of California and Gearl Jones of Alvarado, Texas; sister, Irene Greg of California; special nephew, Danny Clayton and wife Sharon of Houston; special niece, Shirley West and husband Buddy of Odessa; and brother-in-law, John Collins of Odessa.

Pallbearers are George Rood, Al McDonald, Jack Thompson, Coby Pool, GW Thomason, David Thomason and J.H. Heard.

Family visitation will be Thursday, November 8, 2007, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2007, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
