Frances Montfort Turner

Mrs. Frances Montfort Turner, 83 years old, died at her home in Campbellsburg, Monday night, on the ninety-third birthday of her husband, Lieut. Col. William J. Turner, to whom she was married in 1875. Mrs. Turner's ancestors, in the seventeenth century, fled from France to Holland and sailed on the "Boytkoe" to Plymouth, landing in 1660. The family moved south to Virginia and then followed Boone's trail into Kentucky. Colonel Turner's family settled in Henry County and the township of Turner's Station bears his name, as does the local chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy.

Mrs. Turner is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Willaim Vories, Campbellsburg, Mrs. J. S. Meade, Smithfield, Mrs. Betty Lidsey, Detroit and Mrs. Minnie Pyles, Norwich, KS and two sons: William of Louisville and Fulton, of Carrollton.

Funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday, with burial in the Campbellsburg Cemetery.
