James Tully Elder was the son of George Elder and Catherine Munro. He was one of eleven boisterous and active children. He married Euphemia S. Graham, dau. of John Graham and Janet Blain, on Apr. 21, 1891 in Elgin. To this union were born three children: Andrew Graham, Georgina Tully and Benson Munro. James died in Blyth, Manitoba on Feb. 15, 1927 but was brought home to be buried here in Elgin with his family at the age of 61 years.

04-21-1891 James Kelly Elder, married Euphemia S. Graham, youngest daughter of the late John Graham, all of Elgin Township Quebec. At the residence of the bride's brother, by Rev. A Rowat.
06-02-1907 Euphemia Graham, wife of James T. Elder, (farmer) died at Elgin Township PQ, aged 44 years. Interred in Elgin Cemetery.
