Oren Robert "Bob" Dansie passed away surrounded by his family on February 20, 2009 at the age of 86.


He was born November 27, 1922 in Herriman, Utah to Haleman and Agnes Dansie.


Having left this earthly home, he joined his eternal companion Lucille Bergmann, who passed away on June 20, 1975. Together they were blessed with six children. Bob was raised on a farm with eight brothers and sisters, where he learned the value of hard work. He retired from Kennecott Copper after 30 years. Bob married Leona Stevenson on July 10, 1976, giving him four additional children, which he has loved as his own.


Bob was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held various callings including several bishoprics, at the Jordan River Temple for 20 years, and three missions where he developed a special love for the people of Logansport, Indiana; where he served with his wife Leona. He loved serving his fellow men.


Bob is survived by his wife Leona, his children Julia (Jay) Healey, Alpine; Robb (Lucile) Dansie, Caldwell, ID; Glen (Judy) Dansie, Herriman; Cheri (John) Christoffersen, Herri-man; Mont (Wendy) Stevenson, Coeur d' alene, ID; Tom (Cathie) Dansie, Grantsville; Kim (John) Gunderson, Henderson, NV; Joni (Larry) Thacker, West Jordan; Martell (Cara) Dansie, Brigham City; his sister Thelma Peterson, Sandy. He has 45 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, son Kenny, and grandchildren Matthew Nathan, Marlene, Jimmy John, and Tyler.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Herriman 3rd Ward Building, 6719 West Valynn Drive (13500 South), Herriman. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West and one hour prior at the Church.
Interment at the Herriman City Cemetery.
