Elton Remington, 73, of 2245 Brockmann Ave., Marion, died Saturday following a long illness. Born Dec 12, 1896 at Pocatello, Idaho, he was married to Edna Seeks Feb. 4, 1920 at Marion. Mr. Remington, a longtime resident of Linn county, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marion. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Rita Urbanek of Marion, and Mrs. Vern Baker of Mt. Vernon; one son, Elton Jr. of Springville; four sisters, Mrs. W.B. Carpenter of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Ralph Michel of Marion, Mrs. Henry Adams of Monticello, and Mrs. James Hayes of Perry; and thirteen grandchildren.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Lawrence Sprankles officiating. Burial: Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday and at the Chapel of Memories after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
