Enid Agnes Dalton Houran, 88, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Monday, October 15, 2012.
She was born August 9, 1924, in Eastleigh, Hampshire, England, to Margaret Woodruff and Frederick Dalton.
Enid served in the English Air Force during World War II, where she met her husband Vernet, who was an American G.I. Enid immegrated to Bennington, Vermont where she and Vern raised their family and she was involved in many activities in the area as well as her church.
They relocated to Florida in 1981. She was a retired Activities Director in the Health Care Industry. Enid was a beautiful needle woman, an avid member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of Port Charlotte United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Judith Randall (Stephen) of Port Charlotte,FL and Lisa Loucks (David) of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandchildren, Stephenie, Rachel, Amy, Megan,and David; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Enid was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Vernet; sister, Elizabeth LaCroix; and brothers Samuel, William, John, and Alan Dalton.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
