Julia Townsend "Dude" Ibert was a remarkable woman for her time. She was an avid horsewoman in a time when it was not proper for a woman to ride a horse. Eventually Julia developed sciatica and became crippled from a fall off of a horse. She always tried so hard to get honey locust trees to grow on her property on Trowbridge St in Franklin, La. She finally got one to grow after many attempts and it lived up until just recently. Julia wanted each of her heirs to have a honey locust tree. It is mentioned in the Bible and has such beautiful, sweet blossoms that attract hundreds of humming birds. Julia passed away June 28, 1920 in Franklin, Louisiana.
