Mr. Baggerly, son of Lou and Lin Baggerly, was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Liberal, Kan. He owned and operated B & B Sales Co. stores in Spearman, Perryton and Guymon, Okla. Out of dedication to his community and its youth, he also opened Bowl Mor Lanes in Spearman. During his 40 years in Spearman, Max served as president of the Spearman school board and also the Hansford County Hospital District for many years. He and Dorothy were charter members of First Presbyterian Church, where he served faithfully for many years as a deacon and elder. Max was a lifelong supporter of education and established the Max & Dorothy Baggerly Scholarship Fund as well as being named Distinguished Contributors to Oklahoma Panhandle State University. After moving to Amarillo in 1994, Max and Dorothy became dedicated members of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church. At the time of his death, Max was serving as a director of First National Bank of Spearman and Bank of the Panhandle in Guymon.

Max loved to travel with his wife and good friends. They enjoyed many places and countries. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and Texas Tech fan. He took much pride in his beloved children, and they, along with his wife of 58 years, will greatly miss him.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son, Steve Baggerly and wife Becky of Guymon; two daughters, Karen Baggerly of Lubbock and Camille Williamson and husband Marc of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren, Shana Fields and husband Ronnie of Waco, Stacy Roseberry and husband Jed of Dallas, Matthew Williamson of Lubbock and Kristen Williamson of St. Louis; a great-granddaughter, Haley Roseberry of Dallas; and a brother, Jerry Baggerly of Elmwood, Okla.

The family suggests memorials be to St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, 3001 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX; the Max & Dorothy Baggerly Scholarship Fund; or a favorite charity.
