Pvt. Parise Will Have Army Rites


Full military rites will be held Saturday for Pvt. Michael S. Parise, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincenzo Salvatore Parise of East Syracuse, R. D. 2, who was killed in action Aug. 3, 1943, in Sicily during the Mediterranean campaign. Services will be conducted at 8:45 a.m. in the Pirro & Sons funeral home and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church where the Rev. Angelo Strazzoni will celebrate a solemn high mass of requiem. The James H. Spire Post 287, Cicero, will conduct services in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 10 p.m. today and from 2 to 5 and 7 until 10 p.m. tomorrow. Before entering service June 3,1942, Pvt. Parise attended East Syracuse schools. He was employed by an East Syracuse paper factory. Surviving, besides his parents, are four brothers, Joseph of Syracuse, Vincenzo of Norwich, John and Phillip of East Syracuse, four sisters, Mrs. Joseph Favorita of Norwich, Mrs. Thomas Martin of Clay, Mrs. John Martin and Miss Maria Parise of East Syracuse, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
