Milton S. "PeeWee" Osborne, 82 of Erie died Sunday, September 25, 2005 at the Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown. Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Gibson Funeral Home, Erie. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM with a Masonic Service at 5 PM. Memorials may be made to the Erie United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Prophets Riverview Center.
Mr. Osborne was born September 7, 1923 in Sterling, the son of Lester "Bill" and Clara Ryan Osborne. He graduated from the Erie High School in 1942. He married Donna Marie Bielema in Morrison. PeeWee served in the U.S. Army during WWII participating in the Normandy Invasion and was wounded in Breste, France. He was awarded the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He had been employed at General Electric, Morrison and retired from the village of Erie. He was a 54 year member and past commander of the Denton Schreiner American Legion, Erie, was a 32nd degree Mason from the Scottish Rite Valley of Moline and was a 58 year member of the Erie Masonic Lodge 667. He had also been a Democratic Precinct Committeeman and had served on the Erie Village Board of Trustees.
He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include his wife, a son, Dr. Mark Osborne and his wife, Shirley and their children, Allison and Kirsten of Macungie, PA, a daughter, Marcia Fisk and her children, Brandon and Caitlin of Erie and a son, Mike Osborne and his wife, Tammy and their children, Mary, Hannah and Michaela of Hudsonville, MI and a brother, Marion Osborne, Seneca, IL.
