Donald John McLaughlin, 78, of Procious died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at home after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Ralph Newton and Stella Maud Cutlip McLaughlin. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Stewart and Wilbur McLaughlin.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was also a former employee of Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay, an employee of Marathon Industries, Bridgeport, and a former employee of Union Carbide.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evelyne Eagle McLaughlin; sons, Donald Bradley McLaughlin of Clay and Rodney Allen McLaughlin of Procious; daughter, Ellyn Dawne McLaughlin of Annapolis, Md.; brother, James McLaughlin of St. Marys; sisters, Shonette Shearer of Phoenix, Ariz., and Nell Foreman of Charleston; and grandchildren, Miranda Rae and Caleb Ian McLaughlin.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Matics Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Legg officiating. Burial will be in the A.J. Samples Cemetery, Procious.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin.
