Obituary
Hubbard E. Wheeler, born in the state of New York, April 13, 1844, died at the home of his son-in-law, Chas. E. Smmith, 2 miles northwest of Grand Island, Dec. 16, 1919.

Mr. Wheeler was married to Martha C. Kent in Erie Co., Penn., Dec. 6, 1866. Seven children blessed their union. The family came to Hall Co. in 1880, locating on a farm, and three years later moved into Grand Island, this has been their home ever since with the exception of a short time Mr. Wheeler lived at Windside, Nebr. Mrs. Wheeler died July 6, 1898, and in 1904 Mr. Wheeler was married to Mrs. Mathilda Bright, who is still living. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Millie Gibson, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Fred Wheeler, and a son-in-law, Chas. E. Smith and twelve grandchildren. The deceased was a charter member of the First Christian church in this city, and was active in all its work so long as health permitted. He was also a Civil war veteran, having served the full four years of the war.

Funeral services will be held from the Christian church, Thursday, December 18th, at 2:30 p.m. and interment made in the Grand Island cemetery.
