Daughter of John and Shuby Twitty Darnell, her obituary says she was born in Jefferson Co, but family tradition holds the Darnells were living in Hamilton Co. at the time of her birth. Lucinda's mother died when she was about 3 or 4 years old.
The family record in Federal Census of 1850 shows a girl her age named Angelina, but no Lucinda. Angelina never appears again.
She married John Carrol Hollaway on 4 Jun 1862 in Jefferson Co. IL. [Jefferson Co. record says 4 Jan, and HOLLOWAY, which spelling parts of the family used.] Many records and parts of her family spell the name Hollaway.
Lucinda bore 11 children, 7 of whom lived to adulthood. The family farmed in Jefferson County. She was a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
Her children were:
Willie, Frank, Edgar, who all died as very small boys. Researchers have not yet found their graves. A daughter, Alvilda, died an infant, also no grave found. Surviving, birth order unknown:
