PEDRO HERRERA was born in Texas, and was one of the Heroic Hispanic Tejano's to fight for Texan Independence. He was a member of Captain Juan N. Seguin's Company at the Battle of San Jacinto and Bexar. A true soldier until the end, he was killed by indians in 1838, while on an expedition for the newly established Republic of Texas. It is not known if a burial actually took place, or if the bodies were lost to the marauding savages.
