SUDBURY, Mass. - Mrs. Lena F. Lowell, 95, formerly of Vincent St., South Portland, Maine, died Saturday at a local nursing home after a long illness.
She was born in Chelsea, Mass., Dec. 5, 1881, the daughter of Willard and Ella Speare Chandler. She attended South Portland schools.
Mrs. Lowell was a member of Peoples United Methodist Church, South Portland, was a member of the Missionary Society and was a Sunday School teacher. She was very active in all church affairs.
She was the wife of George W. Lowell, who died in 1942.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Madeline L. McTigue of Venice, Fla.; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a niece.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, South Portland.
