Charles Orrington Lowell died at his home on Chase street, Brooklyn Heights, Sunday morning at 2 a. m. He had been confined to his room for about two years. He was the son of the late Tallman and Almira Lowell, and was born at Phippsburg, March 4, 1839. His wife, who was Hannah Gibson of Vassalboro, died many years ago. He is survived by two sons, George Lowell and Samuel Lowell, by three daughters, Mrs. Frederick W. Huntress, with whom he made his home, Mrs. Everett Chandler and Miss Lillian J. Lowell, a teacher in a high school in Connecticut. One son, Dr. Charles M. Lowell, passed away a few years ago. He also leaves nine grandchildren and one brother, Abner Lowell, another brother, Dr. James Lowell, having died several years ago. The funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frederick W. Huntress, at 53 Chase street.
