Altoona Tribune, Tuesday, December 30, 1862:
ANOTHER SOLDIER GONE - George Loudon, son of Mr. Loudon, of Logan township, a member of Company K, 125th Reg't P.V., died at Harper's Ferry in the early part of last week. His remains were brought home on Saturday last, and on Sunday afternoon he was laid to rest beside his companions in arms, in the circle in the centre of Fair View cemetery. When we saw him last, tending to his sick and wounded comrades, at one of the field hospitals, at Antietam, he was the picture of health and bid fair for long life; but disease, more fatal and less easily guarded against than the bullets of the enemy, has done its work upon that stout frame, and George now sleeps that sleep from which the bugle call or long roll will never wake him. Peace to his ashes."
3/2013 from a member: My ancestor, George M. Loudon, was born March 19, 1835. He was the brother of my great, great grandfather, John Loudon.
